We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Officer to join our team at Denholm Engineering Ltd! This role is a Permanent position which is based at our Aberdeen site.
Main Responsibilities:
Health, Safety and Environmental
- Comply with the organisations HSEQ policy and procedure requirements – including Risk Assessments, PPE Instructions and other Safe Working Instructions.
- Perform tasks as directed and in accordance with Job Initiation Pack and approved drawings ensuring assigned work is clearly understood before commencing.
- Conduct pre-use visual checks on machines prior to commencing work to ensure equipment is fit for purpose and safe ie. they are no signs of damage, defect or disrepair. Notify your immediate Supervisor of damage, defect or disrepair.
- Check condition of cables of equipment prior to commencing work activities.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area before, during and after completing work. Dispose of waste using the correct bins/skips provided for segregation.
- Report any HSE issues witnessed in the workshop, stop the job if you feel that the safety of yourself or that of your colleagues is jeopardised.
- Participate in any risk assessment reviews, safe systems or work or accident or incident investigation where required.
Quality
- Examine own work, checking for defects to ensure conformance with drawings and specifications.
- Record work activity on Job Cards &, Production Reports (and any other documentation as and when instructed) in accordance with Workshop Production Control REL-003-W036 in order to comply with our management systems processes and customer requirements.
- Report all non-conforming material/product to the Machine Workshop Supervisor
General
- Complete assigned work within allocated man hours by working productively but safely.

- Participate in all training provided by the company.
Production/Manufacturing Operations
- Using measuring equipment to check work/results etc, including REL3442 Romer Arm.
- Conducting final inspection of manufactured parts prior to delivery ensuring product meets conformance with drawings and specifications.
Knowledge
- DEL HSEQ policy and procedure requirements.
- Microsoft Office –Outlook, Word and Excel • Manufacturing processes – hold points, witness points etc
- Understanding of welding processes
- Understanding of non-conforming product and processes
- Basic knowledge of health & safety law • Information security and data protection
- Working appreciation and awareness of ISO9001 Quality Management standard
- Knowledge of customer/regulatory compliance
- Understand quality impacts customer experience.
