As a subsidiary of Denholm Energy Services, Andidrain (A Denholm Environmental Company) deploys teams of highly qualified personnel, together with specialist equipment, to deliver a complete portfolio of industrial cleaning services safely, efficiently, and effectively. we are currently looking for a QHSE Compliance Officer!
The purpose of this role is to promote a positive and innovative safety culture by driving QHSE forward within the Andidrain business along with providing focus and attention to the QHSE Management systems, Objectives, KPI’s, Legislation and Training. This is a hands-on position that requires an impartial, highly motivated, self-starter coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills facing the workforce and management.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide QHSE support to all levels / departments within the business to promote a safe, healthy workplace.
- Regular site visits for the purpose of:
- Providing support on pre-job assessments for the production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Evaluating levels of operator competence in respect of health and safety and identify relevant training requirements.
- Carrying out job audits with a view to devising initiatives for improvements.
- Support and assist with the assessment of risks: scrutinizing, coaching, and developing assessor competency, and providing “hands-on” input in respect of complex and/or high hazard activities.
- Carry out risk assessments, for all work processes and prepare Safe Systems of Work.
- Raise awareness of QHSE through the creation and delivery of training, toolbox talks and briefings within the business, to develop a suitable and sufficient behavioural safety approach.
- Carry out health and safety induction training.
- Compile monthly statistics and QHSE report.
- Plan and lead regular health, safety and environmental meetings ensuring any concerns raised are addressed.
- Monitor QHSE performance across the Andidrain business: leading, conducting, supporting inspection, tour and auditing programs, ensuring actions are completed and closed out in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, legislation, approved codes of practice and guidance.
- Control the investigations of all accidents and incidents by managing their progress, carrying out thorough impartial and investigations, identify immediate, underlying and root causes, best preventative / corrective measures along with communicating results, ensuring actions are completed and closed out in a timely manner.
- Contactable out with office working hours in the event of QHSE emergencies.
- Ensure safety alerts are created and rolled out to all staff as lessons learnt from previous incidents.
- Manage customer and supplier assessment procedures, ensuring timely completion ensuring and up to date data is obtained.
- Co-ordinate, lead and carry out internal audits as per annual approved audit schedules to show compliance with the ISO Standards.
- Liaise with customers, enforcement bodies, HS&E professional bodies, insurance or audit bodies when required.
Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities:

- Follow DENV / Andidrain procedures / instructions on all health, safety, and environmental matters, ensure that all required health, safety and environmental training is carried out and make sure that you understand and follow the company's health, safety and environmental policies.
- Ensure that you do not to interfere with or misuse anything that's been provided for your health, safety, or welfare.
- Report hazards and defects observed in the workplace and ensure PPE provided to you is suitable and fit for purpose.
- Report any injuries, strains, or illnesses you suffer as a result of doing your job.
- If you drive or operate machinery, you have a responsibility to advise Management if you take medication that makes you drowsy.
