Due to growth within the group we have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our team in Glasgow!
The Finance Assistant role is focused on supporting the finance team with day to day financial operations, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of transactions for two UK based subsidiaries companies and the development and maintenance of strong relationships with their internal stakeholders, suppliers and customers.
This will include reviewing and processing transactions across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash and Bank, with some exposure to general ledger and project accounting.
Main Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
- Processing purchase invoices / resolving queries with suppliers accurately and on a timely basis
- Preparing and processing payments to suppliers
- Supplier statement reconciliations
Accounts Receivable:
- Processing sales invoices in an accurate and timely basis
- Regular follow up with customers, providing statements, invoice copies and supporting documentation where required
- Performing credit checks and opening new customer accounts
- Credit control, chasing and escalating for payment
Cash and Bank:
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Processing updates and changes in supplier details / new suppliers
- Credit card / expense claim processing
Other Responsibilities:
- Supporting with collation of payroll information
- Supporting with job / project P&L reports
- Help identify and support system and process change that improves efficiency
- Ad Hoc duties per business requirements
- To undertake other duties as may be reasonably required of you by the Finance Manager and other senior finance staff
