An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Apprentice. Under the supervision and guidance of the experienced Group Finance team, this role will acquire the skills and on-the-job training to achieve an AAT Certificate in Accounting SCQF level 6 in order to provide Denholm Energy Services and its subsidiary companies with effective administrative support across the full range of finance activities. It is intended this role will follow a structured pathway with the opportunity to undertake further study to become a Chartered Accountant.
The Main Responsibilities of job:
- Managing the DES Accounts mailbox
- Responding to internal and supplier queries
- Processing invoices, including ensuring all approvals are in place
- Prepare and process bank payments as required, including BACS and Faster Payment
- Reconcile bank transactions, escalating any issues
- Assist resolution of ledger issues
- Processing credit card and colleague expenses
- Sending cost recharge reports to subsidiaries within the group
- Assist Group Management Accountant with general monthly reporting activities
- To carry out general administrative duties to assist with the day-to-day operation of the Finance function.
- Provide support to the Group Finance team with key finance project work, budget, forecast and annual audit support as appropriate.
- Any other reasonable duties in order to ensure the smooth running of the Finance department
